The Cathy Rich has 12,500 trained clients in various aspects of food processing technology. Some of these trainees have gone on to start up a new food processing business or have improved their existing business by adding new products, improving the technology used, changed their production process to improve production, enhanced production quality and increased marketing and financial management. Our past trainees include some of the following groups: • Rural micro ,small and medium scale food processors • Tsunami affected people • Trainers (TOT Programme) • University Students • Students/Youth groups • School teachers The CRC also offers technical advice and training for entrepreneurs and organizations who would like to set up micro, small and medium sized food sector businesses. Some examples of our past trainees who have went on to establish their own business are: Fresh Start • Bulk producer and distributor of fruit based products e.g. jams and juices • Project started by Swiss Contact (I-NGO) for ‘tsunami widows’ – CRC provided technical consulting & training • 14 women employed Dandy Products • Fruit juice and flavoured milk producer • Trained at the CRC in production technology and hygiene • Employs 3 people • Sells to neighborhood shops and in the local market My day Products - Yoghurts
